Begin looking at this Writing material - BUT DO NOT DO THE FINAL WRITNG EXERCISE YET

Just to get started:

Then read all of of these pages very carefully and take notes

1)       1)  https://in2english.net/2018/01/21/a-letter-of-enquiry-learn-english-in-a-summer-school/

and look at the example:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing with regard to the intensive English summer courses that you offer. I would be very grateful if you could send me some detailed information about the course that will be held in your school in Bristol this summer, as well as what kind of accommodation you provide. I would like to enquire about the price of the month course. I would be very interested in finding out more about activities students have in the summer school.

I am 16 years old and I have been learning English in Ukraine for nine years now. I would like to improve my written English and speaking skills. Do you have any courses for teenagers which offer a lot of speaking practice in small groups? As I am student I would be interested in details of any discounts that are available, and the full price of the course including accommodation. Finally, I would like to ask if I can pay for the course with a credit card and what kind of documents I need to be enrolled.

I look forward to receiving your reply.

Yours faithfully,

Maxim Kovalenko

and look at the example:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in connection with the advertisement for your English course. I am a fifteen-year-old student from Ukraine. For some time I have been looking for a course in English at a higher level, and that is why I found your course very interesting.

I would like to know more details about the price of the course. I would like to ask for further information about accommodation. I’d like to stay in a host family to have more practice in everyday English. I am still not sure about things I have to take with me. Finally, I am interested in activities in the summer school available for students.

I look forward to your answer.

Yours faithfully,

Ksenia Panchenko

3)    Really excellent – so read it and take lots of notes on the language

4)    Also really excellent – so read it and take lots of notes on the language

Now have a look at the information on the pages of this language school website and draft a letter to the school, explaining briefly who you are and what you want, asking for information about summer courses, accommodation and how to get to the school (but don’t send it!) or, even better, also writing to check that you have understood the information on the website correctly.

So only write the letter after you have read all the information on the website. See what questions you still have:
