First Year, Lettorato I, class 1E, for our Google Meet lesson on Thursday 26 March

No lessons at the Marco Polo building for the moment. So here is the work to do at home to be ready for Thursday.

English File Student's Book, using your book, online materials, a dictionary and friends from the class via Skype or Messenger video link or by phone for the oral parts.

Preparation to do for Thursday's lesson.
Unit 9A, page 86, don't do Exercise 1, Listening and Speaking, sections a-h, you will do this with me on Thursday
page 87, don't do Exercise 2, Grammar, sections a-e, including page148, you will do this with me on Thursday
Exercise 3 Pronunciation, sections a-b, with your online materials, section c (very good) with a classmate by phone or by video link
page 88-89, Exercise 4, Reading and Speaking, sections a-c, to check with me on Thursday, section d, with a classmate by phone or by video link
Exercise 5, Vocabulary, sections a-c, including page 164, don't do part d, you will do this with me on Thursday
page 122, New Writing task, Exercise 9, sections a-c if not done with me in class, then section d, write an email of complaint, also using the formal language in the A formal email box on page 121. Don't be aggressive! Be polite!

Old Writing task
Read these instructions carefully. First check the Vocabulary on page 162 (Houses),
Then do page120, Exercise 6, Describing a house or flat, sections a-c
Then section d, write an essay, 180-200 words, but don't describe your ideal house, don't use expressions like 'it's perfectly situated', instead, write an honest description of a real house or flat – the flat you are renting, or your family home in Rome or in your hometown or at the sea or in the mountains. Make sure you explain its location clearly and include good aspects and the bad aspects too.
Or if you prefer, you could imagine you are sharing a flat in Rome and that one of your flatmates is leaving soon. Write an advertisement to put on a university noticeboard to try and find a new flatmate. Include information about the rent, bills, the other flatmates, any rules or preferences and contact details. This was in the exam one year!

So the next real-time video conference lesson is in our class time at 9.00 on Thursday. You have to go to Google Meet in your Google options, clicking on the square icon with 9 points on the top right of the homepage of your institutional mail. The group will be called: 'lettorato1young' but I'll put the link on your Classroom Stream at 8.45.
You need to deactivate your microphone at least at the start, otherwise, it will be difficult to hear. Then I'll ask someone to speak and they have to activate the microphone. You can write to me and the other students in Chat at the top on the right. Activate your video link, so I can see you.
Have your book and Extra 1 ready.
